5 Things to Do with Your Family in Indianapolis in September

Indianapolis in September is one of my favorite times of the year. For one it is my birthday month! Hello to all the Virgos! So, I definitely have some things I want to do this month to celebrate. However, we are going to focus on the family stuff you can do this month.

Below are list of activities for families and kids to do in Indianapolis in September. If you are in or around the city this time of year here are 5 must do things in Indianapolis in September with your family.

Indianapolis Apple Picking & Pumpkin Patches

Fall season is coming (if it’s not already here) which means visiting the local Pumpkin Patches in Indianapolis and it’s apple picking season. We love Tuttle Orchards and we picked apples last year in September. At Tuttles Orchards, you can pick  your own pumpkins (and apples too depending on how early in October you go), apple cider, hayrides, and more activities for the family to enjoy. Here are some pumpkin patches & apple farms to check out this month. Please check their sites due to social distancing. Some places may require reservations.

Yappy Hour

Get outside with your family and your family pet with this free dog and family friendly happy hour. This is a second year event and glad that it is back.

You can experience local vendors, music, local dog vendors, dog training demos, local beer/wine, food trucks and yard games that you and your family can enjoy. It is free to attend.

When – September 24th from 6:00-8:30pm at Military Park.

Indianapolis Donut Festival 

The 6th annual Indianapolis donut festival is happening this year. This is will be a drive thru even this year due to help with keeping social distancing and keep participants safe. You can listen to music and enjoy other activities as well. 

Did you know? The Indy Donut Festival is an event that raises funds to support the American Cancer Society’s Indinapolis-based patient programs, research, awareness, and services for those affected by cancer.

Arts Market on the Circle

Downtown Indy, Inc. and the Arts Council of Indianapolis will present the Downtown Arts Market on the Circle. Twenty artists and crafters will offer unique creations including handmade masks, jewelry, home decor, paintings, ceramics, artisan soaps and body-care products, clothing, pumpkins and more.
Admission is free.
