6 Ways to Drink More Water

6 WAYS TO DRINK MORE WATER

You should be drinking more water! I say that to myself as I grab some orange juice (or coffee depending on the night I had) in the morning, as I get a lemonade for lunch and I as drink a glass of wine for dinner. Drinking water is a chore in itself (for me anyways). Something else I have (need) to do. Honestly, plain old water just does not do it for me sometimes. I am out to trying something to get the habit started.  Fruit-infused H2O! Infused waters are easy to make, nutritious (great for vitamin intake), and invigorating. Turn your once plain water into a hydrating, refreshing drink. It’s easy to do!

Here are some combos worth trying:

Water
Glass/Cup (32 ounces)
Wooden Spoon

Grapefruit

1 red grapefruit, sliced

Minty Cucumber Lime

1/2 a cucumber, sliced
1/2 a lime, sliced
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves

Strawberry-Lemon with Basil

1/2 cup sliced strawberries
1/2 a lemon, sliced
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves

Lemon Water

1/2 a lemon, sliced

Watermelon Mint

1 cup cubed watermelon
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves

Pineapple-Orange with Ginger

1/2 cup cubed pineapple
1/2 an orange, sliced
1 tablespoon freshly-grated ginger

 

Directions:

  1. Place the fruit, herbs, and/or spices in the bottom of one of the cup/jar/glass
  2. Fill the jar with water.
  3. Enjoy as-is or refrigerate overnight or at least 30 minutes prior for the water to infuse with the fruit.

    Thankfully I love water just fine. I can’t have grapefruit due to medication I am taking, but you know what? I could get my grandma to use some of these ideas to get her to actually drink water and stay out of the hospital!
