I think one of the things about becoming a mother is that you have a hard time finding balance. It is easy to be consumed by the people you love, especially the little person you gave birth to. It’s literally a part of you growing outside your body. You want them to feel loved. And easily you can lose yourself. This year, I am getting back to me with the help of Barre Code.
I love my family with all my heart, but sometimes my love for them consumes me. It’s not a bad thing, but in the effort to take of my family, I need to take care of myself to make sure that I am always around to be there for them. I had to say it out loud. Put it out there . Let my husband know. Then I had to really commit myself. And with the help of my local Barre Code Indianapolis, I was able to able to start getting back to me
I switched up my eating help with the help of the hubby. Also, started drinking more water, working out and marking my process with a fitness planner. I have not committed to working out in a long time (maybe 2 years). This is probably the hardest to commit to because it required getting out of the house and getting into the mindset. Making room in my schedule to do this was essential. I enjoy workout classes. I think they are my favorite workouts next to workout videos at home. Now, I have to say that workout clothing is so comfortable and helped me get in the frame of mind.
Working out with a small group of women sometimes can be intimidating but the attention the instructor (or the staff as they will sometimes take the classes as well) gave to me helped a lot. There have been times I have been in a huge class and not completely doing a formation right or feeling the burn. I feel a little disappointment that I am not getting not only the full workout but the attention I need when I am doing something wrong when you are trying to commit to a goal.
A cool thing about the Barre Code is that not all the classes are the same. There are several different classes (HIIT, Brawl, Barre-dio,etc.) So, you can do 2 different classes in once place. The Barre-dio class you took yesterday is not the same class and every class is challenging your body. A nice 50-minute class where you feel the benefits of your workout later.
