Sundays have turned into game days since this fall. When it comes to game time and cooking, I don’t think both should compete with each other. I want our family and friends to enjoy the time we spend together and not worry about cooking hours before or worrying about not eating the food I’ve cooked. So, I am saying no to spending hours in the kitchen and trying to make some fancy Pinterest recipe that only one person will eat and that isn’t family friendly.
Why make things complicated? Thanks to Tyson, I don’t have to. When I want good food that I don’t have to spend hours in the kitchen making and that I know that my family is going to love (and the guests, too), then I go to some game-day food staples: Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips, Hillshire Farm® Beef Lit’l Smokies® Smoked Sausages, Aidells® Meatballs, State Fair® Corn Dogs and Tyson® Any’tizers® Buffalo Bites Snacks. Plus, I can grab them all on one grocery run at our local Meijer.

Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips are great for the adults and especially the kids. They are already a staple in our house for dinner, so it is a no-brainer to make this on game day with dip – honey mustard, blue cheese, and ketchup (for the kids). They are made with no antibiotics, minimally processed, have no artificial ingredients and taste delicious. And if you want to make a healthy game-day food, then this will make a great chicken salad.
The State Fair Corn Dogs are a hit for the guys and the kids. For the kids, specifically, so they don’t eat all the chicken strips, the State Fair Corn Dogs are great options for them. They are a source of protein, are made with 100% beef and are quick to make. You can find these in the frozen section at Meijer.
Tyson Any’tizers Buffalo Bites Snacks are for the adults who still want chicken but want something with just a little bit more of a kick. We love them because they are made with no antibiotics ever and also a great source of protein. We love them with a great blue cheese dip to balance the kick of flavor.
Then, we grab the classic game-day food of meatballs with a certain sophisticated flair with Aidells Meatballs. Aidells Meatballs are clean label, and the teriyaki and pineapples flavor is a thoughtfully unexpected flavor combination that everyone will love. My kids even enjoyed them.
Hillshire Farm Beef Lit’l Smokies Smoked Sausages are a staple at all parties. They are made with quality cuts of meat and smoked to perfection. They are pre-cooked, so you don’t have to spend as much time preparing them. And they are pre-seasoned, so you can make great-tasting meals with fewer spices/ingredients. Add some BBQ sauce, and you have a great and simple game food ready to go. Grab them from the refrigerated aisle at your local Meijer.
I am ready for a good game thanks to Mejier. So, here’s to good food, good friends and to your team winning this football season.
