Going Green with Green Smoothies

There is a new wave in healthy eating called green smoothies. Smoothies are not a new concept. We know fruit smoothies, such as banana and strawberry smoothies, and smoothie companies such as Smoothie King and Jamba are everywhere. Now smoothies have entered into a new era of going green. Green smoothies are a great and fast way to get veggies into your diet and good for the family.

Why green smoothies:

  • help lead a healthy lifestyle
  • lots of fiber
  • easy
  • fast

Another thing that is awesome about green smoothies is that there is not just one way to have them. There are so many variations to green smoothies, I am sure you can have a different one for at least 6 months. Now, if you are thinking about the idea of trying a smoothie, here’s a great recipe to try.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups spinach, fresh
  • 1 shot (frozen cube) of wheatgrass
  • 1 cups water
  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 1 cup mango
  • 2 bananas

INSTRUCTIONS

Combine water and spinach in blender and puree until smooth. Next, add the remaining fruits and blend again. You can add more water (or ice) for desired constituency.

Here’s to your health! And if you have a recipe to share, please let us know in the comments.

We have an omega juicer and we juice all law! My favorite are the green juices of coarse but iI absolutely love juicing “Apple, beet, pear” mixed together.
You always feel so great after you juiced!

I’m not going to lie, it doesn’t look appealing, but I could get past it for the health benefits 🙂

You can always add more fruit to adjust to your taste, but you may surprise yourself and like it. My kids did!

If you’re someone who’s trying to eat healthy, but don’t like vegetables this is the best way to take them. You get to have your daily does of vegetables quickly instead of dreading over eating them.
