How to Make Hot Chocolate Bombs
- Melt the chocolate chips and using a spoon or small spatula scoop a small amount into the silicone molds. For the cookies and cream, mix in the crushed cookies to the white chocolate. For the others, just melt the milk chocolate chips. When melting the chocolate, make sure not to over melt it as it will become too thick. If you do this, add in a bit of coconut oil and stir.
- Drag the chocolate gently up the sides and place in the freezer for 10 minutes. You want to spread on a thin layer of chocolate if you can. I suggest to place the molds into the freezer to firm up the chocolate. If you find that your chocolate needs and additional layer, remove and spread an additional layer on to the molds. Even out the half circle on a warm pan so that the tops are not ragged. Try not to keep the molds on the warm pan too long. You should only be placing the spheres on for a couple seconds and spin a bit, just to even out the tops.
- In one side of the sphere, place in your toppings to one half of the sphere. Layer the mix and the toppings. Top with mini marshmallows.
- Warm the other half of the sphere so that the edges are slightly melted and place it immediately onto the other half of the sphere. This should only take about 2 seconds, so don’t leave the molds on the pan too long. Press gently the spheres together and place back into the freezer for 5 minutes to set. If you are not in a rush, you can do this in the fridge as well, but it might take a bit longer, about 10-15 minutes.
- When you are ready to serve place the ball in a mug and pour hot milk on top and stir well once the ball has burst. If you want extra marshmallows you can add in extra mini marshmallows to the cup.
