We are so excited to tell you how to make an amazing brisket for family gatherings. Seriously, we (Andy) loves making brisket and our family and friends love coming over to partake in eating it. And, we think they like hanging out too.
Andy started working on smoking last year and he has definitely improved to the point where we now have gathering centered around grilling and smoking meat. This week, we celebrated two milestones. I finished a grueling 10 week course with 3 nursing classes and my sister finished her last day of residency. Well, I am sure there are many ways to celebrate, getting the cousins together, bringing Grandma to town and cook some food. When we mentioned brisket was on the menu, no one can say no.
Now, Andy has a simple way to make brisket. So, here is how to make an amazing brisket that your family and friends will love for any milestone or just to get together with family and/or friends.
How to Make an Amazing Brisket
To make an amazing brisket you need an amazing meat. We cook with brisket from Snake River Farms. They are one of the best places to grab meat from in general. The brisket is wagyu beef. Wagyu beef is considered one the finest quality of beef and the taste is incredible. Look at how amazing this brisket looks.
So, here is what you will need.
The Ingredients –
Mustard
McCormick Grill Mates Texas Smokehouse Beef Rub
2 tbsp of garlic salt mixed with 25% of worchestiere sauce and 75% beef broth (Injection sauce)
Rub your brisket with mustard (you can be generous with the mustard). Then sprinkle with McCormick Grill Mates Texas Smokehouse Beef Rub until it is coated. Inject the brisket with the injection sauce. Wrap brisket for 24 hours.
After 24 hours, you can start smoking your marinated brisket. Place your brisket fatty side up on the smoker. Place on the highest grate. You will cook your brisket until the internal temperature is between 195-205°F and usually the smoker temperature is around 225-250°F. Now, don’t want to keep opening your smoker to test the temperature so we recommend the Grill Grate Thermometer. Smoking brisket can take up to 12 hours, so be prepared.
And this is what you get.
Sometimes, we just eat straight from the tray, but this is great with potato salad or broccoli slaw.
Tip: Need to reheat? Wrap in aluminum foil and set oven temperature to 325°F and warmed through.
