Hello October! Fall season is here and with an October bucket list you can do all the things that was meant to be for this autumn season. I never really got into autumn or all things October until I had kids. Now, I enjoy the season change and have a family fall bucket list as well.
1.Take family photos.
This is the perfect time with the outdoor scenery to take some family photos. Also, those photos can be use for Christmas cards later if you like. I used fall photos for some blog post.
2. Have a movie night (or nights).
Make a list of Halloween movies you can enjoy with the family. Have a movie night every Friday or Saturday and watch movies off your list. Make sure to make a grab some popcorn. You can also try an backyard movie night and have a campfire to switch things up.
3. Attend a Fall Festival.
Check your local area and see what festivals are happening. Local orchards and farms usually have fall festivals that are great for the family to check out.
4. Go to a pumpkin patch.
October = pumpkins. Support local and go to your local pumpkin patch and pick out pumpkins with the family. Take family photos well you are picking pumpkins.
5. Carve or decorate pumpkins.
Hopefully, you have done #4. You can carve or decorate your pumpkin with the family. Here are some no carve pumpkin ideas.
6. Go to a haunted house.
Have a little fun and a little scare. Check out your local area for age appropriate haunted houses that your family with enjoy.
7. Go camping.
Fall is a great time to go camping and here are all the reasons why to go camping in the fall. If you are first time campers, here are tips to make a successful camping trip.
8. Take a hike.
October is a great time to go hiking. Enjoy the outdoors and check out local trails in your area. If you are in the Indianapolis area, here are some Indianapolis hiking areas.
9. Have a bonfire with s’mores.
Another way to get outdoors and spend time with the family. Fire up the fire pit and bring out the s’mores and parents you can enjoy a fall cocktail. This something our kids cannot resist and actually ask for.
10. Make Pumpkin foods.
October is the perfect time to indulge in pumpkin foods. Try to make pumpkin muffins with the family for dessert or pumpkin pie oatmeal – yum.
11. Give back to your community.
This is a great time to give back to your community. Look into volunteering with a local organization, church or charity. You don’t have to wait until November.
I love this list because it is simple, easy and it’s all things you can do on Friday or Saturday and even Sunday. Also, this is truly all things October, fall and some Halloween. If you think I left something out please let me know. Grab your calendar and planner and write in your October bucket list. Let me know if you try any of them or all of them (aim to do all of them and embrace October).
