This post may contain affiliate links, which I earn a small commission for purchases when you click on products I love and recommend.

When you become a nurse, there’s joy in that accomplishment. I know I worked hard to recipe that degree as many others have. The NCLEX exam is no joke. I also enjoy the nurse stuff out there too! There are some great practical gifts for nurses that I have received as well as other nurse friends and coworkers.

1. Stethoscope

2. Compression socks

3. Shoes

4. Badge reel

5. Weighted blanket

6. Eye masks

7. Trauma scissors

8. White noise machine

9. Nurse mini bag

10. Gift cards

Stethoscope

One thing you rarely see a nurse without is a stethoscope. You can win a nurse’s heart with a great stethoscope around her neck. We use this to do our assessments that help us relay information to the doctors, charge nurse, nurse manager or whoever needs this information. So, to have a good stethoscope is an understatement.

Compression socks

You may think why do you need special socks? Well, compression socks are not just socks. This socks help increase circulation and that is great when you are running around and standing around as a nurse. They also can prevention of varicose veins and swelling in the legs as well.

On a budget check out these compression socks – Socklane Compression Socks

For a nurse that has alot of personality check out these compression socks – Wear Figs

Great compression socks that every nurse should have – VIM & VIGR

Shoes

Everyone has their opinion about nursing shoes and I am not different. There are quite a few shoes on the market that nurses love. I have gone through a few pairs and different stages of my nursing careers.

My favorite clogs – Dansko Women’s Professional Shoes

My favorite sneakers – New Balance Women’s 574 (I have black, pink & blue)

My favorite “nurse” shoe –  Nurse mates

Badge Reels

Working in the healthcare field you need a way to identify yourself and that is usually wearing a badge reel. One the ways that nurses can show off their personality and have some fun when you are wearing scrubs is with your badge reel.

There are so many kinds of badge reels that this category was narrow down different kinds. Here are just a few on my favorite ones.

Weighted Blanket

I found about this through a friend who used this for their child. I thought was just for kids. Now, you are seeing weighted blanket being used for many reasons. A weighted blanket is great for those who have trouble getting and/or staying a sleep. They can weigh anywhere from seven pounds up to 30lbs. As a nurse who works nightshift, most nightshift workers rave about how this helps them get a good night rest.

Eye Masks

Catering again to the nightshift nurse (but honestly anyone can benefit) with a good eye mask. Eye masks help block the light out, which helps you get to sleep. Sleep as you know as to better health. Getting a good night (or day) rest is essential. You can also get the eye makes that provides aromatherapy or reduces puff eyes.

Trauma Scissors, Sharpie & Pen Lights

I don’t know how many times I use my scissors to do simple tasks as removing a wrist band to cutting off clothing. All the items I have to write on with my sharpie and yes those assessments when we need a pen light. It may seem like a little thing but it helps to have these handy tools. If you are making a gift set, add them to your gift.
