Last week I received my SparkBox full of fun toys for my two youngest children. Let me tell you, at first I was a little skeptical. The concept behind SparkBox Toys is similar to Netflix, only for toys. Let me break down the logistics of SparkBox Toys. There are a few plans you can choose from and with each plan you receive 4, specifically chosen toys. Each box has toys that are chosen based on your child’s age.
In my box, I received the set of 4 different toys: a lettersauraus, a stacking tree, some baby shakers and a band in a box. First let me tell, I am always super excited to get new toys, perhaps more so than the kids are. The appeal of getting “new” toys is certainly a smart idea. Each of these toys was specifically chosen for their developmental benefits. I won’t bore you with all the “factual” information, because ultimately if my kid doesn’t play with it, it doesn’t matter how developmentally beneficial it is. Either way, you can be assured that with each of these toys, I received a laminated product card with all the information a parent could ask for. Each product card has developmental benefits, playtime ideas, product description, why [SparkBox Toys] love it, Spark fact, safety notes, and product details.
Two of my toys were wrapped in a shrink-wrap. This is because you are borrowing toys that have been played with by other children. To put your fears of dirty toys or unsanitary conditions to rest, SparkBox Toys puts their toys under an extensive cleaning process. Each of the toys I received was in pristine condition. I would never have thought other children played with them. My kids didn’t have any idea either.
So, more importantly, did my kids like the toys? Absolutely! I was completely happy with how they reacted to the toys. Even my older kids were excited. The Band in a Box was a huge hit with my little ones and my toddler (21 months old) pretty much walked around the house for a week saying “Instruments!” and my favorite, “Miss Racca” (also known as maracas). The instruments were worth the box alone. Included in this toy were symbols, maracas, a triangle, a tambourine, and a few shakers. Everyone in my family, including my 5 month old, enjoyed this toy. We had family concerts or just played the instruments to our favorite music.
The next toy in my box was the lettersauraus. This toy is basically a dinosaur with letters on its back. As you press the letters, the make sounds. My toddler was a little young for this toy and didn’t seem as interested in it. It was nice to see my kindergartener sit down with my toddler and work on letters together using the lettersauraus.
The infant shakers that I received didn’t come with an information packet. They were, however, pretty straight forward. My little girl loved the colorful shakers and she and her brother (the 21 month old) shook them happily to music.
The final toy in my box was the stacking tree. This toy got the least amount of play in the house. This tree is an intricate kind of stacker. I thought it was cute, but knew my boys were a little more active for this toy.
In all, I really liked SparkBox Toys. They were fun and different than the other toys in my arsenal. I loved the idea of SparkBox toys. This borrow/return system is becoming quite popular in many aspects of life, so why not toys? I hope that you get a chance to check out their website and selection of toys at www.sparkboxtoys.com
Enjoy!
I received a sample box for review. Although this post is sponsored, all opinions are my own.

These boxes sound great! My kids are about the same age, so I think they’d get some enjoyment out of these boxes as well.
