I had the opportunity to experience Myofascial therapy, also known as trigger point therapy, from Tomo Touch. In my former life, I was a massage therapist b.c. (before children). Prior to becoming a massage therapist, I did not know the true benefits of these therapies. It is amazing to feel the results of a massage. When most people hear about massages they think of a traditional or deep tissue massage to help relax or treat sore muscles. Myofascial trigger point therapy is different and amazing. Myofascial therapy triggers points in the muscles that, if you are in pain, stimulate and provide relief.
I was seeking a little relief from an injury I had 6 years ago (this injury is known as pregnancy). It was not a chronic pain, but something I just lived with and thought was just a side effect of having kids. I went to Tomo touch in Broad Ripple in the afternoon. Tomo, my therapist, was great. She spoke with me as if I have been a client for years and she knew her stuff. I explained my condition and got on the table. I was thankful I wore comfortable clothes. She stretched and pulled my leg muscles and isolated muscles and worked on my neck too (for ailment). At the end of my session, she showed me some stretches to do at home to help in the future. At the end of my session, I felt fine and was told to drink plenty of water. That night, I could already tell a difference. The condition I have with my leg caused me to sleep on my side or if I sat down for too long I would have a kink in my first few steps. After my session, I was able to lay on my side and not feel any pain that night. The next day, my body felt as if it was shifting, perhaps to correct my bad posture too. It’s been a week and my condition has not come back. I have lived in pain for 6 years and was told I might have to have surgery. Tomo Touch gave me the relief that no deep tissue massage gave me and in my first session!
If you are in chronic pain or mild pain that you just have lived with, tried everything and it is not working or have a dull achy pain, then I highly recommend you reach out to Tomo touch and get myofascial trigger point therapy. Seriously, schedule an appointment today!
